The Difference with Dentists

Going to the dentist in the US:

"Lauren, you may have a cavity on xxx tooth. Let's fill it just in case. Lauren, do you floss? You really need to floss. Your gums are deteriorating. And you're going to get such-and-such gum disease. Do you use an electric tooth brush? Oh. Do you use a water pick? No? Well we have the top of the line ones for sale here. You should really consider buying one if you want to save your gums. I also highly suggest you do the fluoride rinse today and an oral cancer screening. Neither are covered by your insurance but they are critical to the health of your mouth."

Going to the dentist in SG:

"Ok, I'm finished with the cleaning. You have the best teeth I've seen today. Very nice.  Make sure you give extra attention to your teeth in the back left.   Ok, you're all set. Have a nice day."

...and I should also add that I called the day before to make the appointment and got in the next day.
